Open Casting Call for "The Fighter"

Boston Casting, the state's largest casting company, is holding an open call audition for the new feature film The Fighter, starring Mark Wahlberg, and directed by David O. Russell (I Heart Huckabees). The Fighter is the story of Lowell boxing champ "Irish" Micky Ward.

Boston Casting is looking for people to play the following roles:
· Boxers and fighters in their 20's and 30's
· Trainers
· Women in their 20's and 30's with blonde or red hair
· Residents 18 years and older from Lowell and surrounding communities

The audition is open to everyone 18 years and older. No kids for this audition.

Everyone MUST BRING a headshot and resume or a current photo and bio to the audition. The audition is open to union and non-union actors.

Adam Sandler to Film "Grown Ups" in Boston

Adam Sandler and a great, comedic ensemble cast are set to begin filming Grown Ups in the Boston

Directed by Dennis Dugan, Grown Ups' stars' include Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade, and Rob Schneider, among others.

Massachusetts will stand in for Connecticut, where in the film, Sandler and friends return home for a 4th of July reunion.

Filming will continue around Boston throughout the summer

ABC's Opportunity Knocks with Ashton Kutcher

Boston Casting is seeking a studio audience to work for free on ABC's new Hit Reality Show, Opportunity Knocks, from executive producer Ashton Kutcher.

You must be non-union and age 18 or older.

Opportunity Knocks is a game show for families who win flashy prizes and lots of money! The studio set will be the contestants' house.

Job shoots Sat. 9/20/08 in Salem, MA.

Audience members will meet at 6PM in a parking lot nearby, then be shuttled to the set. The TV show will shoot from 7PM to 11PM. You may be on your feet for most of the show.

As with most studio audiences, there is no pay involved, although you can legitimately put it on your resume.

ABC News seeking MA Moms for Sarah Palin Story

ABC News' Good Morning America is seeking MA moms to interview for their responses to their Sarah Palin interview. The interview will be held in Stockbridge, MA, but is open to women (preferably moms) from anywhere in the state. Here's the notice:

ABC News is looking for women in Stockbridge (group should be mostly moms) to sit down with Kate Snow of ABC News this Sunday to talk about Sarah Palin.

Charles Gibson is in Alaska now, about to do the first sit down interview with the Republican Vice Presidential nominee.

They need a diverse group of women to sit down with Kate to discuss what they heard.

Casting Rastafarian for The Brotherhood

LDI Casting is seeking a male, 25- 35-years old, to portray a Rastafarian store owner in Showtime's Brotherhood.

Auditions will be held Wednesday, September 10, 2008, in Providence, RI.

This will likely be a 1 or 2 day shoot.

The exact day of filming is not scheduled. The entire episode films in Providence from 9/15/08 through 9/24/08.
